I am appalled that the town of Brampton would behave in such a manner. I believe they should be sued for causing pain, stress, anxiety and any charge that could be levelled against them. I would personally contribute to paying for a lawyer to see this injustice fixed. I will also petition everyone I know to support the two dogs and their families.
this is beyond disgusting. It is cruel, incompetent and unjust. We live in Canada. I am ashamed of everyperson involved in this seizure and would like to see each person fired for their incompetence. I will be phoning, petitioning and writing letters. I am just incensed that this could happen to a dog who has done nothing to derserve this attention.

wow lock-jaw??? really?? pick up a book once in a while. There is no lock jaw. wow common sense would tell you that. Get your facts straight and its the way they are raised that makes them aggressive again the fault of humans so hey punish the humans not the dogs. Ya they are animals and we were the ones who wanted to domesticate them so guess what again our fault.

This is disgusting> Pittbulls or not the dogs did nuthing wrong. Its just another case of the goverment on a power trip. Perhaps they should spend more time locking up the human criminals who make some of these dogs fight, bite etc and there wouldnt be so much fear of the breed. Its not the breed of dog its the way they are raised. Nature vs nurture and nurture always wins. I think it is rediculous to condem an entire breed because of human error witch is all it is. Humans make dogs saussy and then the dogs suffer. It takes very closed minded fearfull individuals to not see that. The goverment is going to push and push but eventually people are going to push back. It sickens me to my core to think of these pour animals basically being punished because we decided they make nice pets. Its all on humans not the animals they do what comes naturally or what they think we humans want as their beloved masters, they only try to please us and get slaughtered for it. Its a pritty sick world. This pour senior citazin cant keep a harmless pet but a famous football player can pritty much get away with anything. Funny isnt it

Janette, no offense, but perhaps educate yourself a little more also. No dog has ‘lock jaws,’ and besides, pit bulls have no stronger jaws than other breeds. The one study done showed pit bulls has less PSI in their bite than both German Shepherd dogs and Rottweilers.

When I went to her as a Constituent, she was condescending and rude and it was clear that she had no intention of actually LISTENING, but instead acted like she was the Minister and I was some little peon she should bully!!!

she has NO interest whatsoever in bringing in positive change for the “little guy” and instead is parroting idiotic phrases and doing NOTHING!! We need the FIBs out — the power has gone to their heads and they really really need to be turfed!! Hey, when Broten was environment Minister she and hubby had 4 gas guzzling cars for the two of them. The “garage gate” scandal of wanting to build a two storey elevator garage to house their 4 cars really didn’t help.

broten is drunk on power — we need to be rid of her and the Fib cronies….

Guess it couldn’t have been a Boston Staffordshire Terrier that got away from its owner and attacked my Sheltie. It actually had my dog in its jaws before a neighbour helped free my long haired, relatively small, definitely harmless dog!

Screw DNA testing proving whether a dog is pit bull or not is so not the point! the point folks is that banning any breed, because of iresponsible owners rather than make said owners accoutable, while punishing only the responsible ones is backwoods thinking, and worthy of a third world country! I thought this was Canada? not Nazi Germany!

This is quite a bit out of date by now, but it was one of the first results when I searched for ‘Midland dog by-law’. I live in Midland and am surrounded by dogs (which is great)! Midland is not an anti-dog town, and there are plenty of rottweilers, and mastiff breeds around.

The author incorrectly noted that these dogs are “banned in Midland” – which is just not true. The by-law simply states that they should be muzzled on municipal property. I think avoiding Midland because you think your dog’s life is unsafe in Midland is completely ridiculous. I encourage you to visit Midland’s downtown again and take a good look at all of the happy dogs and dog owners.
